Good morning, peeps!
Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. – Psalm 139:23-24 KJV
Have you ever gotten a response you didn’t like and said “You know what? I should’ve kept my mouth shut.”? That is how I felt when I went to the dentist for a whitening the other day. So I “opened my mouth” and the next thing I know, she wants to consult with me about a cavity she had found. Ugh. One, I didn’t ask you to go snooping around in my mouth. Two, “Are my teeth still there? Yes? Well, just whiten them like I asked. The cavity too.” Guess what? My dentist had the nerve to say, “No. We need to address this issue first. Then we can work on making your teeth sparkle.”
Man! I should’ve kept my mouth closed.
That’s the way God’s been working in my life lately. All I said was “Let them see You in me.” That’s all I asked. A simple request. But noooo. He’s like “That’s what I like to hear, but I see some things (cavities) that need to be addressed first.” Wait a sec!! Can’t I just put on a t-shirt with “I love Jesus” on it?? Y’all, He’s been pulling things out and filling holes left and right. It’s been so painful that sometimes I wish I had kept my mouth shut, but I know it’s necessary. He’s just preparing me for what I asked for.
Have you made a request of God and it seems like things have become harder and not easier? Folks and things leaving? It’s just God doing some extractions and a few fillings. He’s preparing you to receive what you’ve asked for. You’re about to sparkle. 🙂 Have a good one.
