Good morning, peeps!
“Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.” – James 1:12 KJV
So this week, I’ve encouraged you:
- to “stand and fight and I promise, it will be worth it”;
- to get out of our own way as the church and see people as “sons and daughters of Abraham”;
- to allow God’s grace and strength to come in “and do what it do”;
- to not just WEAR the armor of God, but USE it.
Sounds like we have a huge to-do list. Y’all ready?? LET’S GET TO IT!! C’MON!!
Hold up! Not so fast.
What was impressed upon my heart this morning is that we can’t do a lick of this without God’s help and His leading. That is really the only way we can be successful. Have people tried? Yes. Have they succeeded? No, but it can look like they have – sooner or later you’ll see the truth of the matter. We can’t stand and fight without Him. We can’t lean on His strength without Him (we cannot endure temptation without Him…I’ve tried – it does NOT work). We cannot use the armor of God correctly or effectively without Him and we can’t even get out of our own way without Him. Isn’t that something? We can’t even get out of our own way. Know this: it’s one thing to “go forth” with His blessing and a whole ‘nother thing to go forth without it. I don’t wanna.
So pray, fast, study, wait, and then go as God leads. PFSWG (pee-eff-sss-wuh-gee). Never mind. Just say the words. Have a great day.
