Daily Devotional, Spiritual Walk

For A Song.

Good morning, peeps!

I am so excited about the devotional series that is going to jump off next week…you have no idea. At first, I was very hesitant to do it because this will be me at my most transparent state and I was not sure I wanted to put all of that out here. You know…’cause I’m a minister and we are supposed to have our stuff together.

Oops. My bad.

I was driving in my car last night and during a quiet moment, I asked God for direction on how this series is supposed to flow. Y’all already know how He likes to check me real quick-like and mess up what I’ve had planned to share with you. Allow me to refresh your memory about the last time…

I am still pouting about that one. I probably should get over it.

So, I was driving and God gave me a playlist. Well, this is different. Songs, God? Yes. What speaks to you? Ah. Music does. Don’t worry: I will have Scripture all up and through this series, but music will be in the background. Well, that is what I planned initially. But, God…I haven’t even started the series and You are already changing my plans?? I was prompted to look at this another way and what came to me was something that is totally the bomb: wouldn’t it be cool if I made the words of the songs the main thing and tied them to Scripture? Use songs that spoke to me in each part of this area of pressing…the soundtrack of my journey. Yes! And make it a musical! I know! I know! I’m weird!!

Let the insanity begin!

On Monday, we will kick off “Press – The Musical”. I am sooooo excited, y’all! If ever God has used my personality to minister, this will definitely be one of those times. Actually, this is not too far off from what I do anyway. Every morning, I send friends a link to this blog via Messenger and I always attach a music video – just a little praise to go along with their morning encouragement. So, see there? It’s coming full circle. I promise you, we are going to have a blast with this one. Here’s the playlist so that you can listen at your leisure:

I Press – Fred Hammond

Intentional – Travis Greene

Place of Worship – William McDowell

Tree – Justin Rizzo

Better – Jessica Reedy

He Wants It All – Forever Jones

So there you have it. Are you ready? I am. I can’t wait to dig in! Have a great day.
